Our sweet, bright 9-year-old boy with a motor skills disorder needs a fun and loving caregiver to help him with physical and educational needs.

He is in 3rd grade at a private Christian school that follows a blended classroom/homeschooling schedule. The caregiver would attend school with him and help him with moving around, writing, transferring from wheelchair to desk, eating, and playing with his friends. On non-classroom days, the caregiver would help at home with eating, playing, exercises, homework, and taking him to therapy appointments.

During the times mom takes him to appointments, we'd also ask for help with his brothers when they are home, as well as light child-related housework.

A specific degree is not required, but the position would be great for someone seeking experience in a medical, education, or counseling-related field.

If you would like to be considered for the job, please provide three references that we can call. Our start date is flexible within mid to late November or December.

Must be 18 or older. No special needs experience required! Just a love of kids and a love of playing, as well as a strong interest in learning new things. Our son's motor skills disorder is significant (he is wheelchair bound), but we'll teach you anything you need to know.

Requirements include:
Able to lift and carry 40lbs (he is tiny at 30lbs), repeatedly throughout the day.
Have a 4-door car that can handle a carseat (we reimburse for mileage).
Able to commit to the position through the end of the school year in May 2018.
Able to communicate professionally with teachers, therapists, etc.
Able to help our son play and make friends.
Able to be patient and encouraging while working with children and maintain a positive attitude.

Full time position, 40 hours a week
